Kenya scooped tremendous business deals during its participation in the Source Africa Trade Event held on the 18th to 20th June 2014 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). EPC collaborated with the University of Nairobi (Departments of Engineering & Manufacturing, Industrial Chemistry and School of the Arts & Design), the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) to develop new products in textiles, apparels, leather; paintings, sculpture, furniture, detergents, body care, shoe polishes, creams, metal and ceramics. Some of the products developed under this Product Development Programme, namely textiles, apparels and leather; were Test marketted at the Source Africa 2014 Event which offered an excellent opportunity for manufacturers from Kenya to meet and network with African, United States of America, European Union, Canadian and Asian apparel, textile and footwear chain store buyers, mini-chains, independent retailers, agents, importers, service providers, manufacturers and other important industry decision makers - all under one roof.

The Source Africa trade event attracted 1178 trade visitors and 214 exhibitors from 18 countries including Botswana, Cameroun, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, Hong Kong, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, USA & Zimbabwe.  The EPC stand displayed a wide range of apparels, textile bags, leather bags, shoes, scarves, leather gift items, amongst others.

EPC partnered with Design professionals from the School of the Arts and Design of the University of Nairobi (UoN) to develop the stand display concept and product catalogue shown below.
