In a bid to strengthen trade ties between Kenya and the United Kingdom (UK), a forum was organized by the Kenya Private Sector Alliance in partnership with the British High Commission, Department for international Trade, British Chamber of Commerce Kenya, The Ministry of trade and Ukaid.

The UK-Kenya Partnership for Prosperity Trade and investment forum held different discussions during the breakout sessions on Renewable Energy, Agri -business & Manufacturing Infrastructure, Financial Technology and Innovation. The Forum was attended by President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and the visiting British Prime Minister Theresa May and other Kenya UK based investors.

During the networking forum, the EPC CEO Peter Biwott shared key information and reports with prospective exporters in line with the Council’s strategic goal of increasing Kenya’s exports of goods and services.

The meeting between Kenya and UK aims to strengthen trade and investment ties, in support of the Big 4 Agenda. Key products for export include value added tea, coffee, textile & accessories and home deco products. Kenya requires investments in the Big 4 sectors especially manufacturing to transform the sector from the 8.4 per cent share of country’s wealth to 15 per cent in the medium term.
